About Dr. Miriam Ehrenberg
I am a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care of children of all ages, from infants to adolescents. In addition to my work at the hospital, I see patients in my private practice and also provide care through Leumit Health Services at the Aluma Clinic in Petah Tikva.
I received my medical degree from the Gray Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. I completed my residency in Ophthalmology at Rabin Medical Center, graduating with distinction.
I subsequently completed a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where I received advanced training in the diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of eye disorders in children.
Following this, I completed a second fellowship in Inherited Retinal Diseases and Visual Electrophysiology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School. This specialized training provided extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of rare inherited retinal disorders in both children and adults, as well as advanced electrophysiological testing of the visual system.
Since returning to Israel, I have been a senior physician at Schneider Children's Medical Center, where I care for children with a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. I direct the Pediatric Inherited Retinal Disease Clinic and lead the Visual Electrophysiology Laboratory. My surgical practice includes the treatment of strabismus, nasolacrimal duct disorders, dermoid cysts, conjunctival nevi, and other pediatric eye conditions.
In my private practice, I care for both children and adults with strabismus and inherited retinal diseases, as well as children with a broad spectrum of eye conditions, including amblyopia (lazy eye), refractive errors requiring glasses, congenital eye disorders, nystagmus, albinism, visual assessment, and many other pediatric ophthalmic conditions.
I was recently elected Chair of the Israeli Society for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, reflecting my commitment to advancing the field and promoting excellence in patient care, education, and research.
Alongside my clinical practice, I am actively involved in teaching medical students and ophthalmology residents, mentoring young physicians, and conducting clinical research. My professional interests include pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, inherited retinal diseases, and visual electrophysiology.
My goal is to provide every child and every family with an accurate diagnosis, the highest standard of medical care, and compassionate, personalized support throughout their journey.
